Assistant Manager, Procurement Direct

As an Assistant Manager, Procurement Direct, your role is to ensure that your company’s procurement processes run smoothly and efficiently. One of the biggest challenges of procurement is tracking the progress of each purchase order and ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of any issues that may arise. This is where KanBo comes in.

Card Blockers

KanBo’s card blockers feature allows you to block cards with a specific reason, informing all stakeholders about any problems with completing the task. Multiple card blockers can be created to categorize problematic work, making standstill reasons explicit. You cannot change the card status until the card is unblocked. If the card is blocked because of your actions, you won’t be able to miss it. There are three types of card blockers available: local, global, and on-demand.

Local blockers are created and used only at one board, while global card blockers are generally available at every board. On-demand blockers are global blockers that are available at the board after adding it by the board owner. Global card blockers usage can be monitored from the higher level, while local blockers can only be seen by board members.

Using Card Blockers

To create a new card blocker, select the “more” button (three dots) and open the board menu. Then, go to “Settings” and select “Blocker Types.” You can create a local blocker or add an existing on-demand blocker to the board. Only board owners can create blockers in a board.

Every card member can block a card with the available card blockers. To block a card, select the “more” button (three dots) in the card menu and select “Block.” Then, select the blocker and attach a person responsible and a reason for using a blocker (optional). Click on “Block,” and your card will be indicated as blocked in the card’s and board’s view.

Current Card Blockers

If you’re the person responsible for some blockers, you will see a section called “My Blockers” on the top bar. Here you can see all blockers which you are responsible for. The counter indicates the blocked cards by you in the order of impact, calculated based on the relations and due dates.

Managing Card Blockers

Board owners can change the name and description of the blocker or remove it when it is not needed anymore. To edit a card blocker, go to “Board Settings” and select “Blocker Types.” Click on the blocker you would like to edit and change its name and description. To remove a card blocker, hover over the blocker and click on the “more” (three dots) button. Then select “Remove.”
